Gidday!

 

Here’s what you need to do, to get involved with fRETfEST.

 

STEP 1

The first step is to actually come along and see the show.

Hand over a demo and we’ll have a listen to it.  That's the first step.

PLEASE NOTE.  Fretfest is not a "jam night" so please don't rock up expecting to play.  We do not put musicians on stage untill you have been auditioned. 

If you are Under 18, please ask your parent to Contact Us, or bring them with you.  Please don't send any myspace links, or emails, or YouTubes, anything else like that.  

 

ABOUT YOUR DEMO

* Your demo must contain your own original acoustic songs only.  No overdubs or backing or effects. 

* It must be just you, alone, on your own, with acoustic guitar and your voice, only.

*  All songs must have lyrics and all songs must be G-rated.  We do not accept instrumentals. 

* Your demo must have your name and email and mobile number written on it.

 

STEP 2

AUDITIONS.  If your demo rocks, we’ll get back in touch with you and have a chat about how to arrange a private audition where you can do a workshop and find out more about fRETfEST mentorships and live performances.

 

STEP 3

Become a fan of fRETfEST by attending as many fRETfEST gigs as possible.  There's no substitue for being there!  We value your attendance, highly.

Bring a friend and come and introduce fRETfEST to as many people as possible, add us on facebook. 

 

* * PLEASE NOTE * *

All musicians must attend a private audition (first) before you get on stage.  It usually takes about a month to go through the audition process.  We encourage you to get involved and meet the other musicians, become familiar with the format of fRETfEST, first.  You can learn a lot just by being there!  We conduct private workshops which are free to attend.  Remember, the first step is to come to a gig and hand over your demo.

 

Remember, the first step is to come in to a gig and say gidday; then introduce yourself to the MC and hand over a demo.
